ELECTRICAL SERVICE & MAINTENANCE

SHIFT COVERAGE

Intec can provide an Electrician to be onsite to answer breakdown calls and provide maintenance services. We currently provide ongoing shift coverage for several manufacturing facilities across Sydney.

24/7 BREAKDOWN SERVICE

We have a Service Electrician on call 24/7 and will be onsite to attend a breakdown in Metropolitan Sydney within 2 hours of your call.

FACILITY MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS

Intec provides general Electrical maintenance services, including installation of all power, lighting and data requirements.

EXIT & EMERGENCY LIGHTING

Exit and emergency lighting should be tested on a 6 monthly basis to ensure that all fittings are in working order and meet Australian Standards AS2293.1-2018. This service includes logbook compliance and/or providing detailed reports to the client.

EARTH TESTING

Earth continuity testing to be carried out on a 6 monthly basis to ensure that Earthing systems are operating correctly and maintained as per AS/NZS 3017:2017. Testing the Earthing system ensures that it is adequate to protect from electrocution.

RCD TESTING

Residual Current Devices (RCDs) are designed to trip, or switch off power to a circuit if an Electrical fault occurs. This ensures that the user of an Electrical appliance is protection from potential shock. An RCD test will safely trip the RCD to ensure that it is functioning correctly and will switch off power within the required trip time.

RCDs should be trip tested every 6 months to ensure correct operation and to comply with Australian Standard AS/NZS 3760:2010.

If an RCD does not trip when tested, the RCD may be faulty and needs to be replaced by licensed Electrician. Trip testing RCDs will cause interruption to electrical circuits and should be scheduled with the facility.

SWITCHBOARD MAINTENANCE

Intec provides regular maintenance services including a visual inspection of all switchboards, escutcheon, circuit breakers, RCDs, pole fillers, all wiring and connections to ensure integrity and compliance with Australian standards. All switchboard locks are checked and tested. All cabinets, doors, gaskets, glands and cable entries are checked. All switchboards and cleaned and dust filters inspected, cleaned and replaced if necessary. All circuit schedules are checked and updated if required.

Electrical switchboards must be shut down whenever works are carried out within the switchboard, which may affect operation of the facility. Inspections and repair works will need to be scheduled at a time when power to the switchboard can be switched off.

INFRARED DETECTION TESTING

Infrared detection can identify hot joints in switchboards and key electrical connection points. Early detection can prevent fires and damage to electrical components and equipment. Intec can carry out this test and provide a full report showing the areas tested and recommendations for any required repairs.

If any major concerns are found during testing the client will be notified immediately and advised of the recommended action.

ENERGY MONITORING

The quality of power supply is important to the functioning and life expectancy of all components, especially electronic equipment. Fluctuating voltages and voltage spikes can disrupt electronic equipment, computers and light fittings and may reduce the life expectancy considerably.

Intec provides a data logging service, which can determine loading for power supplies, phase loading, power factor correction, voltage spikes and power consumption. This can identify any voltage fluctuations and also assist in determining areas where energy efficiency can be improved and can provide cost savings.

A full report is provided to the client showing areas tested and any required repairs or suggested improvements.
